string bikini at 40 and I don't care who has opinions

just turned 40 and bought the tiniest string bikini I've ever owned. my mom was horrified. my sister said "aren't you a bit old for that." you know what? I've spent my 20s and 30s covering up, wearing "age appropriate" swimwear, and being self conscious. I'm done. I work out, I feel good, and even if I didn't work out and didn't feel good I'd still be allowed to wear whatever I want to the beach. wore it last weekend at the resort pool and felt amazing. literally no one cared except the people I told about it lol. if you're holding back from wearing something because of your age, this is your sign to just do it. life is too short for boring swimwear
